Family Photo Shoot!

Ike has a coworker who happens to be one of the most talented amateur photographers I have ever met. She takes really beautiful new born photos and she offered to take some pictures of Jackson for his second birthday. The photo-shoot ended up including some beautiful pregnancy shots as well as some sweet family photos. Here are my favorites from the shoot:

The best part about the whole thing? She did them for free! We are so lucky to have this lady as our friend. She is really amazing.

Bowl Head.

Jackson has gone through some interesting phases in his short life. This last month he has entered into a knew one: Wearing mixing bowls on his head as a hat. I think it may come from watching all the taped New England Patriots games with Ike. I wonder if he thinks the bowls are kind of like foot ball helmets? Who knows.

Happy Birthday to Us!

I remember when I was being induced with Jackson and thinking how fun it would be for us to have the same birthday. Now I realize that I lucked out! Jackson was born the day after my birthday and now we not only get to have our own special days but we get double the cake and double the ice cream!

We were going to drive the 45 minutes to Grand Island and go out to eat for my birthday but because we had stormy weather and tornado warnings all day we decided to stay in.

I got one of those awesome giant cup cake molds!!! I have wanted one forever!!

I made myself an ice cream cake. It turned out OK. Not as tasty as I was hoping.

Overall, I think 24 is going to be a great year for me and 2 is going to be a great year for Jackson!

Back from Hibernation!!!

I wouldn't say that I am "back from the dead" because I haven't been gone tooooo long. You know how some people get writers block? I feel like I have had blogging block. I have been so frustrated at myself every day that I let this lapse go on that today I said, "That's it! Get off your booty and write a blog post!". So that is where we are. Where to start??? I think I will try to post something about every day to every other day until I get caught up with all my recent endeavors. I don't want to do a "Here is what you missed..." post where I do a quick re-cap of everything in the last month because I have done a lot of cool things and I feel like they all deserve their own posts. So to start!

Trip to Utah!

Ike, Jackson and I drove the 14 hours to Utah to see his Brother Abe and sister in law, Ashley sealed to their adorable little boy Joseph. It was awesome! The trip made me realize how much I missed the mountains. It was a 4 day trip but we were only in Utah a total of 23 hours. Still, totally worth it.

What a gentleman! Ike pushed Jackson all around Temple Square.

I told Ike on the way home that if we had the opportunity to drive 14 hours each weekend to go to a sealing and see family, I would do it every week.
